    Antique Copper Water Kettle
    2103-11101A

Copper has long been revered for its beneficial properties, one of the most important of which is its heat transfer ability. Its use in cookware dates back centuries, and this example features the classic shape into which water kettles evolved over time. Brass was used to hold the handle high off the pot, chosen for its qualities of strength and lesser heat transfer, yet the handle itself is copper since that metal cools off quicker. An ingenious solution to an age old task of heating water for a myriad of uses around the kitchen and the home.
